What are AA Meetings?
AA stands for Alcoholics Alcohol. It was established in 1935 by Bill Wilson and Bob Smith to allow their members to remain sober and help other alcoholics attain sobriety. AA meetings gather men and women who share their experiences of breaking free from alcoholism and how they are pulling through.
The AA meeting provides a framework for members to reexamine themselves and guide them toward recovery from alcohol. Members of any religious faith are allowed to join as AA meeting is not affiliated with h any religious body organization.
Benefits of AA Meetings
The benefit of joining AA meetings are very numerous. The likelihood of you staying sober for a long period is increased when you join an AA meeting. Studies have shown that AA groups and residential treatment had better chances of staying away from alcohol for the next three years. Some other benefits of joining an AA group are:
Membership is free
Members are allowed to be anonymous
Members of the group are not exposed to intrusive questions
Provides a platform of support for members of the group
How to Choose an AA Meeting that is Best for You
Achieving long term sobriety must come with deliberate plans and strategy. You must select the best AA meeting that would help you achieve sobriety. There are different groups of AA meetings. Newcomers are allowed to join the newcomer’s group to meet and interact with other newcomers like them.
The single-gender AA meetings are for those who are more comfortable discussing their experiences with members of the same sex. A closed group AA meeting is a type of AA meeting that only allows discussions on sobriety. You can pick from any of the groups of AA meetings that best suits you and your quest of maintaining long term sobriety.

About Woodland Hills, CA
The West Valley Warner Center Chamber of Commerce describes the Woodland Hills region as:
The West San Fernando Valley has so much to offer–biking and hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains, traversing large shopping malls, taking scenic drives to many points of interest. The West Valley is a modern American suburb of Los Angeles. It may be miles away from Downtown LA, but Woodland Hills stays productive with a business model of its own—Warner Center rises in the middle of this clean and tidy district. Green pastures, long drives, neighborhood’s forested trails and vista-worthy roads offer the kind of elegant chaos only nature can achieve here in the West Valley.
LifeHacksLA describes Woodland Hills as:
Woodland Hills is one of the most popular places to live because it’s safe, clean, and has a nice urban and suburban mix to it. But for those of us who don’t live there it’s also worth visiting or spending a day there because of the great list of both indoor and outdoor things to do.
